Why infections keep coming back
Recurrent UTIs can be linked to kidney stones, prostate enlargement, incomplete bladder emptying, diabetes or narrowing of the urine passage. A urologist evaluates these causes with urine culture, ultrasound and other tests as needed.
Treatment
Treatment includes the right antibiotic based on urine culture, correcting the underlying cause, and advice on prevention. Avoid taking leftover antibiotics without testing — it can make infections harder to treat.
